We were lucky to catch up with Crystal Morrow recently and have shared our conversation below.
Crystal, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar you earn in a new endeavor is always special. We’d love to hear about how you got your first client that wasn’t a friend or family.
It all began one day when I was driving to the supply store when I noticed a contractors vehicle at the job site. That didn’t have any contact information or services that their company offered displayed on their company vehicle. So went over to the jobsite and approach the leader of the crew. Introduced myself the name of my company and the services that we provide. I then proceeded asking them have they ever considered vehicle wrapping or decals to help build their band and awareness of their company. I let them know that I can bring their vehicle to life by making it a mobile billboard. I explained to them I would put a mock-up together of what the vehicle would look like with their company’s information. They provided me all their information I put together a mock-up, presented it to them. They liked it and that’s how I got my first client.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started this journey back in 2014 when me and my daughter who was 10 yrs old at the time, packed the car up and relocated to Georgia from Ypsilant, MI. I had a background in Graphic Design. Shortly after, we got settled here. I started working as a graphic designer at well-known sign company. It was then where I was introduced to storefront signage, vehicle graphics and design. Over the years, I’ve worked at several signs shops learning all the techniques of this industry. I enjoyed the whole aspect of it all and decided I wanted to start my own company with the experience and knowledge that I gained. I invested in some equipment and started networking. In 2021, I officially opened my business Designz by Visions. We offer a wide range of services that include vehicle lettering and graphics, truck decals that include USDOT, MC numbers, trailer and food truck graphics, vinyl installation and removal, commercial graphics, storefront window decal, company t-shirts, banners and more. We work closely with our customers to make their visual presence be known by delivering great graphic solutions.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Our best source of new clients have come from referrals and Google

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think by my business being mobile and providing onsite installations for our vehicle graphics and lettering. This makes it very convenient for owner operator’s of the trucking community allowing them to have their USDOT Numbers and more installed where their truck is parked This has build our reputation within this market.
