We recently connected with Just In Case and they have shared their conversation below.
Alright, Just In Case thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Our local scene in south jersey had been so good to us through the years, but we always wanted to give the west coast a shot. Our focus shifted in 2009 to moving to San Diego. It was a much bigger market with a more diverse music scene. Fast forward to 2011 and the band was booking gigs and making its way into the San Diego circuit.
Relocating across the country for a band was very risky. Any number of things could have gone wrong. Pulling double duty with getting acclimated with a new area and the band was very stressful. But we believed it was a necessary step to continue to evolve the band.
I think one of the biggest hurdles was networking. It’s tough being the “new kid” on the block. With some persistence we gained momentum, met the right people, and established ourselves.
We have been playing now for over a decade on the west coast. The risk was obviously worth it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative in your experience?
Being musically creative alone is wonderful. In a band? Pure magic. There’s really nothing like it. I’ve been playing music for over 30 years and I promise writing a new song will never get old. It’s a form of expression and stress relief.
On the performance side, it’s the after set “buzz”. The energy is still flowing and keeps you juiced long after you stop playing. That reward is incredible.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Just In Case is an essential outlet for all of us. We’ve been at this for quite some time now and the driving force behind it has remained the same. Share a vision of creating and evolving.
