We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Evangelist Angie BEE. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Evangelist Angie below.
Evangelist Angie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share a customer success story with us?
There was a retired woman that wanted to write a book. The church had discouraged her from using the title of the book that she selected, due to abuse and sexual implications, so she put the book on hold.
She contacted me and we produced her story as an audiobook and implemented a social media campaign to include interviews, flyers, videos and book signings. She was thrilled!
Eventually, this same woman contributed to several anthologies, sharing her testimony as a co-author in books. She was invited to speak in churches and conferences and even developed her own streaming talk show! I remain so proud of her. Now, she is actively learning how to embrace the Holy Spirit and is a stronger presence at her church. Just thinking about her achievements makes my heart swell in giving God praise!
Evangelist Angie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Evangelist Angie BEE, better known as “Da Queen Bee” in the Christian Rap community. My ministry started around 2006 when I was invited to host an air shift on a streaming radio station. The Jericho Broadcast Network allowed me to host a Holy Hip Hop/Gospel Rap format radio show, weekdays from 4-8 EST. Our show was recognized by the One Accord DJ Alliance as the BEST FEMALE RADIO SHOW HOST in an International Category.
In 2011 we “took the show on the road” as God led me to start a concert tour, featuring the music ministry leaders from the music we aired on the show. I was on food stamps and leaving a domestically abusive marriage with two daughters, yet, I trusted God and started contacting church leaders. “The TOUR that Angie BEE Presents” traveled extensively throughout Florida, North Carolina, Michigan and Georgia with no salary; God provided and kept us safe. I served as concert videographer and MC. That is when I received the moniker “Da Queen Bee” – I am a round, yellow, busy-bee for Jesus.
As the radio show grew an audience in Australia, Africa and France, people would send me their books and ask me to read portions on the air. Finally, God encouraged me to develop my skills and equipment to be a narrator, producing commercials and audiobooks for others.
Angie BEE Productions was launched as a production agency for Ministry, Media and MORE as I was led by God. Our rates remain affordable for the independent author and the publishing company, too. Radio stations often retain my voice gifts for their “imaging” and commercial work. Since God gave me these gifts and talents to “make a way for me”, I dedicate 50% off all revenue to “The TOUR that Angie BEE Presents” and our workshop “Moms-n-Ministry”. God continues to provide.
During our growth, I wrote and co-wrote a variety of books, each with their companion audiobook. I was trained as a Deaconess, I presented my trial sermon, I served as a founding board member of several congregations and traveled with workshops and conferences inspired by “The TOUR”.
Multiple awards were received over the years. Angie BEE Productions trained interns in graphic design, radio announcing, videography, set design and editing and we helped launch multiple TV shows. During the pandemic, Evangelist Angie BEE launched YEAP – Youth Entrepreneur Author Program; a virtual series of workshops that lead students to contribute to an anthology, and trains them to entrepreneurship. Follow, donate and enroll your students at www.Facebook.com/YEAPImAnAuthor
One of our team leaders adds: “During the past 10 years, the ministry has grown to include workshops on parenting, domestic violence and acceptance. Seven years ago we launched an Alopecia Awareness beauty bazaar in Daytona Beach, Florida and in 2022 received a proclamation from the Mayor. Follow this annual event and invite it to tour in YOUR area at www.Facebook.com/BoldBeautifulAndBaldBeautyBazaar.
In 2023, Evangelist Angie BEE announced her retirement as an entrepreneur, due to injuries received from a car accident. We interns will continue to service clients in 2024, under her blessings. As she continues to heal, we ask that you keep her in your prayers”.
Angie BEE Productions always traveled and we are accepting tour engagements for 2024. We always give back to ministry and we always train others. Our ministry is funded by Angie BEE Productions, and we are grateful for each of our clients for their support. How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When a community leader in Daytona Beach, Florida encouraged us to launch an Alopecia Awareness event, I wondered where the money was going to come from. A venue needed to be secured, a DJ needed to be hired, food, volunteers… there were just SO many expenses that were needed.
First, I searched for volunteers to donate their time in exchange for social media promotion that we would provide.
Second, I was led to speak before our City Council to ask that one of their venues be donated to us for free. The price of a gymnasium was reduced for us (James 4-2:3)
Third: I aligned our event to become a fundraiser for a non-profit organization which offered us visibility and enlarged our purpose.
Finally, I invested my income tax refund and asked for matching dollars. Those donations were produced into a souvenir directory that offered promotion and gratitude in print format. We also recognized our volunteers and blessings in that directory; distributed to each attendee.
Yes, we invited sponsors to join us, but we did not rely on that. We only took on this outreach based upon what we had in hand. We also dedicated 6-month of proceeds from our audiobook services to the event. Use what God has provided and you will not be disappointed.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Our most effective strategy for growing and maintaining clientele is to give them more than they asked for. (Ephesians 3:2). We keep our prices low, we add extra services for free and we offer to barter. Self-published authors return to us and now anthologies ask for us, as well. When our social media followers see how we promote others, they inquire. It is the effort, the referrals and the repeat business that has blessed our agency.
