We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maria Valdes a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Maria , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.

From a very young age I really liked to take care of my skin, I was very curious, I always wanted to do some treatment and improve my routine to maintain radiant skin, but I didn’t see it as a job option, I was always making mistakes looking for my center, my passion for something, and in this search I let myself be carried away by the influence of people around me who convinced me to study other things where supposedly there were more job options and more money, but at the end the result was always the same… A great disappointment!!It took me a while to understand that I shouldn’t keep listening to other people’s ideas about money and the perfect job, that I should follow my heart and pursue what my passion really was. And the perfect moment came when the pandemic came, that moment allowed me to analyze myself in detail, to know what I wanted in my life, where I wanted to go, what I was to do to achieve i, and at this time I had a lot of time to start studying what was going to be the beginning of my beautiful career. My advice is to always listen to your own being, your inner self and your heart’s desire, there is the answer to everything, and never forget that everything you do must always put God forward

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My business is based on self-love, on the value we give to ourselves when we take care of ourselves, dedicated to all people who want to increase their confidence and improve some aspects of their skin and body, we have from various types of non-invasive facials, massages, reducing body treatments and teeth whitening, and also advice on healthy habits. My lifestyle is based on balance, I like to take care of myself, exercise, but also if one day I have a whim I allow myself to give it to myself, I am very family-oriented, a believer in God but not in a religion, focused on being better every day in all aspects of my life and dedicating my time to achieve it.

I think something that differentiates me from other people who work in this same industry is that I don’t see this as a job, nor as just money, I see it as a great opportunity to help other people feel happy about themselves, the satisfaction of my clients being able to look in the mirror again with love is my biggest reward, that I enjoy what I do every day, that my clients become friends, family and that it makes me very happy to do what I like.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?

Yes! I definitely feel like I was born for this, And I hope to continue helping many people for a long time with God’s help

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I believe that what has helped me the most in growing my reputation and my business has been the firm idea of treating others as I want to be treated: with respect, with love, patience, with quality and human warmth, without trying to take advantage of anyone and always with the utmost honesty and integrity. Customers definitely go after it.
