Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mike Howard. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mike , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Without risk there’s no reward. You hear it everyday! That goes for almost anything you do in life. I was 30 year olds with a family, newborn son and wife to be exact when I took the biggest risk of my life. I started my first company and decided it was time to go all in and exit the corporate life. I quit my Job that summer and was full time on my own business. It was the scariest decision and biggest risk I have ever taken, but I knew the potential reward it had. Most people have million dollar ideas, but 99% of the time never execute on them. Some people will work a job they hate their entire life and then retire with regret. I have been fortunate enough to put myself in enough rooms with very successful people to know the common denominator of all of them was they took a risk and bet on themselves. I told myself when I started my first company there will be a point where I have to go 100% and not just half way. 4+ years later, its been one the best decisions I have ever made.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have 10+ years of sales and leadership background dating back to my early 20’s. I ran multiple fitness clubs at one point managing 30+ employees at a time. I was introduced to Private Aviation in 2016 where I sold Jet Charters for year and some change. During that time I had a lot of downtime due to my hours. I always wanted to start my own company so I presented a business plan to my now business partner for a Commercial Janitorial Company. After a few conversations and some paperwork I had my first company in full swing. I was able to run that company while working my my full time job for a solid 8 months. With my wife working and having a new born in our house I knew I needed to make a decision that was best for my family so I decided to go all in on myself and go full time on the Janitorial Company. I made promise to myself when I quit my job that there was no plan B. This is going to work out and I will never work for anyone, but myself for the rest of my life. Six months in and amazing growth I realized I hated cleaning! With a Private Aviation background and my business partner having 20+ years in Logistics we explored a new venture of Private Jet Charters. That brings us to today where I am the CEO of Jetsetter Private Jet Service. We specialize in private aviation charters. We offer clients access to over 4,500 aircraft – all of which are maintained to exceed the highest level of safety standards in the industry. Our clients include a wide range of businesses and individuals across a spectrum of industries, including finance, private equity, technology, media and entertainment. We serve these individuals and treat all of our clients as the VIPs they are…That is the JetSetter Experience
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The initial investment for my Janitorial Company was $5,000. That’s state fees and equipment all in…. I never bought more equipment than needed until we started to grow. For almost 2 years I didn’t touch a dollar of the profits earned from the janitorial company. When the idea of starting a Jet Charter Company came up I knew it wouldn’t be cheap to get started. I took every dollar from the 2 years of my Janitorial Company to get Jetsetter started.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I would say always betting on myself and doubling down every chance I had the opportunity to do so. The journey was always a simple level up, but risking it all to do so. Quitting my corporate job to going all in on janitorial company to investing all profit into Jetsetter and taking the 100% focus to that company.
