Chanel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

Sometimes in life if you want great change you have to take even greater risks. I took a life changing leap of faith when I quit my job as a nurse to pursue my passions in a more spiritual based career. I knew it was time to go because my soul could not stand another minute working in the field. It became a burden that was weighing very heavy on me with every ounce of energy given to that situation. I had no clue of what was to come after that or how I would survive, but I trusted in the path that was destined for me. I had been working and building towards that new path for years before making that decision, so when it was time …. It was just time. I sacrificed a lot and lost a lot along the journey but they were eventually replaced with better. Part of what I experienced along the way were lessons that I use to guide others along their journey’s. Over time I developed more trust in the process, my spirit guides, the universe, and of course myself. I took that risk because I saw something much bigger and greater for myself. I saw a life of freedom, flexibility, happiness and passion for what I love. I saw more time dedicated to being with my family and more time for my own leisure. I still have challenges as everyone does, but nothing that I experience moving forward would ever make me regret the risk that I took. When you break out of your comfort zone it opens up a world of opportunities and experiences that you would have never thought you’d have!

Chanel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I got into my current field by following my intuition and signs from the universe. I am very in tune, aware, and awakened to the many facets of existence and spirituality as a whole. In my practice I also help to awaken others to life concepts that they may not have been aware of. This is my purpose! I found a way to combine all of my skills, knowledge, and talent into a service that will benefit others mentally, physically, emotionally, and physically. I started off doing spiritual and psychic work, working with both male and female clients. I helped to guide them along their highest path by pointing out blockages and limitations, and also by providing solutions to help remove the blockages so that they can move forward accordingly. As I did this I also kept up with a passion of mine that I’ve always loved to do…. dancing.

Today my focus is more on female clients and on promoting self love, self care and self healing. We do this by tapping into our sensual energy which is our healing energy, and we also use dance and movement to help facilitate healing and energy flow throughout the body. One of my skills involves energy healing, so my course, Qi Exotica, was created as a way to not only help women feel more confident within themselves and their sexuality, but also using that energy to heal physical ailments through sensual dance. It’s not only about the dancing, it’s about understanding the connection between mind, emotion, body, and experiences. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I used my own unique talents and abilities to help women come more into self love, in a way that is in some cases frowned upon. The topic of sexuality is so taboo, yet is so spiritual and powerful. I wanted to bring more awareness of the spiritual and healing power of sexual/sensual energy as a representation of the Divine Feminine blueprint.

What I am the most proud of is the fact that I was able to overcome obstacles and create my overall brand based on my own personal experiences. I love that it is something that many women can relate to and use in real ways to heal themselves. I want my potential clients to know that I also have products that are connected to the self love and sensuality movement. I have a lingerie website www.QiExoticWear.com. The purpose of this was to bring awareness to women’s bodies and to the healing power of sensual energy. I also have Yoni Care Products called “Yoni Magick” that are hand made from all natural products. These have great health as well as spiritual benefits, and they focus on The Womb which is the sexual energy center. So it all connects!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A lesson that I had to unlearn is actually one that I am still working to understand, about forgiveness. My journey and my experiences have always been very unique because they were tailored specifically for me becoming a spiritual teacher. I was guided into a situation that had a lot of potential but the timing of the situation was off. It ended up being a very negative and painful experience, and I was lead to understand that things happened the way that it did to make sure that I was on a specific path, aligned with my purpose. Forgiving the person and the situation wasn’t necessarily the hard part…. but it’s allowing myself to now open back up to the person and situation again to now move forward in the right direction, that is the problem. I’ve always believed that in some cases, you shouldn’t give people second and third chances. So the fact that I have to now see the situation from a higher perspective and be open to the possibility of actually getting what I want and deserve from it, is challenging. Throughout this process I’ve learned that there is way more layers than what has been presented to us when it comes to love and relationships, soul mate connections, and even those “dating 101” books. So I would say that the lesson I had to “unlearn” was walking away from people and situations that didn’t serve me, to now see the same situation from a higher perspective and be open to greater possibilities within it.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?

The most helpful thing for succeeding in my field would be how I communicate with others. The fact that I am introducing concepts that are new or different makes it hard for people to 100 percent trust them. So when I communicate about my service, I have to make sure that I do so in a way that people can relate and understand. Being creative when it comes to communication helps a lot in getting people to see the connection between 2 or 3 different things that aren’t usually considered to relate to one another.
