We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ana Torres . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ana below.
Ana , appreciate you joining us today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
Friends & Family, if anything I’ve learned that sometimes as much as love as their can be between y’all. They are sometimes the ones that don’t support you. Don’t get me wrong 2 out of 10 would be the ratio on who support you fully without trying to ask for a discount or free things the rest well.
Don’t get me wrong, you should still try because I’ve seen others have only family and friend support them. I have just learned that from friend to an enemy there is a fine line.
It’s also better no to mix business with friendship.
If you have their support then, go for it! However don’t dwell on it to much if family and friends don’t support you because they will see your glow and they will growth.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Ana Torres A wife. A mom. A leader. A daughter.
My business was born out of pure desire to help others have memories.
The Hispanic community has a lot of hardship when it comes to affording small things like pictures. Sometimes we forget that this moments matter. As a young girl, I was always passionate by the history a photo had. I don’t have much pictures of me as a baby or moments with my parents. I started with a disposable camera and then it just kept growing.
I am not perfect but I try to give all the sweet moments from the pose to the candid and maybe a little goofy ones.
My promise to you is that I will do my very best to capture those sweet moments and I will always try not to hold back any moment. I have prices but honestly I will work with all budgets. My goal is to help in any way I can to make sure you get those moments.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
2020; COVID. Can I paint a picture or are you already having flash backs?
My business began in 2016, it was a hobby but on 2020. It became full time.
How? Let me tell you something.
Right before Covid got us all in quarantine, I had just got hit and had a pelvis surgery since my right side got shattered. 3 months in bed rest. May 2020, I started to limp and bills were pilling, my husband got laid off.
I decided to do Mother’s Day minis, a day before Mother’s Day.
I teamed up with two vendors to help me out ( which I had to pay because that’s what business is all about )
My business were extra budget friendly.
I did all I could to promote, booking was pretty slow so I decided a raffle would help me. I got another 4 vendors to help me build a basket to gift our winner.
Mother’s Day Minis Sale was truly my biggest challenge however it was my first giant out of many to come.
I repeat to myself, 2020 if I did it, I can keep doing it.
Honestly, it was tough booking since the world was shut down for what felt like an eternity. I am thankful for those who trusted me. Limping and 6ft apart, we got to shoot amazing moments.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing about being a photographer, it’s going to sound corny. It’s seeing the way love evolves.
One thing I’ve always desire is to see life the way God sees it. The way he loves it.
I’ve gotten to shoot birth, birthdays, graduations, self portraits, couples, engagement, proposals, wedding, maternity and funerals.
Sing it with me – “It’s the circle of life, and it moves us all through despair and hope. Through faith and love on the path unwinding in the circle, the circle of life.”
Love evolves and honestly getting to photograph that is the most rewarding and honor I could have. Yes, getting to pay my bills and provide for my family is a plus but getting to see growth. God truly made us perfect.
