Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vivian Wechie. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Vivian, thanks for joining us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
My career in banking has taken me to the next stage in my life. I met with, collaborated and shared in many meetings with my team, We all agreed that we needed a safe, healthy environment for women to meet in. I shared my experience growing up with a beautiful, loving Mother. How my mother ran a child care center, helped the women who used her daycare by mentioning them, teaching them from her experiences on how to be a great parent. I believe that my mother was one of the reasons why I founded Virtuous Women Houston Empowerment Group. My goal is to help women the way that my Mother did. I was raised by a strong woman entrepreneur, which impacted my life tremendously.

Vivian, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My passion is advocating for the people who need help with their life choices and decisions.. I see my purpose in life as being a catalyst for change, creating a better future for my clients that I coach. As a life, financial and career coach I see the importance of being able to help people make decisions about their lives that propel them forward.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
During the pandemic I had to make a few major decisions about our way forward and garner support from my team. We had been having our workshops, training and conferences in person for several years. But the pandemic made us pivot and rethink how our interactions with our clients would change. We decided to hold our events online, which expanded our reach to more states and counties. We learned that in life we have to be willing to change things and be open to change.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I have always believed in doing what I do with a spirit of excellence. I am grateful for my clients and express my gratitude often. I am an amazing coach which understands my strengths and weaknesses. The old adage, that your reputation proceeds you is absolutely true! My honesty, integrity and a sense of humility.
