Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniel Maloy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Daniel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?

The idea to write a book wasn’t mine. I walked out of a church service one Sunday morning, I began to slam my bible together against my wife’s bible like they were swords, and I heard the Lord say to me, “…They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more” (Isaiah 2:4b, NKJV).

These words resonated in my spirit. The Lord continued, saying, “For far too long you have taken up your swords against the wrong foe. You have stabbed and
wounded each other. It is time to beat your swords into plow‐shares, to put your hands to the plow, to begin to till up the fallow ground, and to reap the harvest together.”

The more I pondered this this with the Lord, He continued to expound on things until it grew into the book I published, Kingdom Shift – It’s Time. It was a word from the Lord that had to be released.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I pastor Convergence Church at WFCF with my wife, Kimberly Maloy. It is a small, growing church on the Westside of Cincinnati. It a place where the presence of God abides and people from every station of life come together to worship God. God is changing lives. We are a family that does life together and who love God and each other deeply. We get together for meals together. We study and apply the word of God to our lives. We take care of those in need in the same way the early church did. When someone has a need and someone else can help meet that need, people are moved by the love of God to meet the need. There is a fullness in worship and the gifts of the spirit are in operation together. There is unity among the leadership. It is beautiful to behold!

I am also an author who has written what the Lord has given me to write. The book, Kingdom Shift – It’s Time, identifies the traps the devil uses to bring divisions among people and strategies to bring unity and kingdom impact not only in the church but also in families, you workplace, and communities. The principles of the kingdom of God work in every area of life, whether you’re saved or not.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding thing I have had a an author is hearing people tell me how much the book has helped them. I have had people tell me that they used the principles in the book on their job as they interact with people. They said that the principles helped them avoid conflicts and be more productive. It blesses me when I hear how people have learned so much from the book. It blesses me when I hear that a marriage conflict was overcome or avoided because of what they learned and then applied from the book. And above all else, it blesses me that God is glorified in it all.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

The goal that drives me in writing books for the Lord is just that I would be faithful in sharing what God has entrusted to me and that the message would reach and impact as many people as possible. I want to hear His voice clearly and communicate that message effectively. This applies to w when I write as well as when I preach or teach. I just want His message to go out and see Him change lives.
