We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hannah King. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hannah below.
Hannah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Let me start by emphasizing that I am genuinely content and fulfilled as a business owner. The entrepreneurial journey has been immensely rewarding for me, filled with exciting challenges and significant personal growth. However, occasionally, I find myself wondering what it might be like to have a regular job, one with its own set of benefits.
Consider this: In my life as a business owner, I’m fully immersed in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship, where each day presents its unique blend of challenges and opportunities. It’s a world filled with boundless possibilities and the freedom to shape my journey.
Yet, there are moments when I’ve daydreamed about the stability of paid time off, a predictable income, and the appeal of more structured work hours. The idea of separating work from home life, enjoying the luxury of switching off the ‘work brain,’ and fully immersing myself in quality time with family and pursuing new hobbies can be enticing.
But these passing thoughts remain just that—brief considerations. In reality, the notion of leaving the entrepreneurial path has never truly crossed my mind. I have the privilege not only to pursue my passion but also to build something truly special. The thrill of the unknown, the excitement of chasing my passions daily, and the ever-present spark of creativity make being an entrepreneur a fulfilling journey.
In essence, while the idea of a regular job can be momentarily appealing, the reality of being an entrepreneur and living out my purpose outweighs any fleeting considerations. I feel so grateful that I get to bring people together in the most uplifting and meaningful ways. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

Hannah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are Squadstyle Work & Wellness, where we believe that work-life balance is the key to leading a fulfilling life. If you haven’t heard about us before, let me tell you our story.
Squadstyle started as my personal training business. I noticed that as a self-employed trainer, it would be great to have access to a shared space where I could work alongside other trainers. My research led me to the realization – it was not just personal trainers who needed a space for themselves. All entrepreneurs & business owners need a safe place where they can work, focus on personal and professional growth, and be part of a community that understands their passions.
Squadstyle is more than a workplace, it’s a hub where you can integrate wellness seamlessly into your day. We offer a unique combination of coworking and wellness amenities to nurture productivity, personal growth, and collaboration.
What sets us apart is the merging of a workspace, gym, and social club into one building designed to help you achieve your professional goals while also taking care of your well-being. We believe that wellness is not a luxury but a necessity, which is why our offerings include free yoga & workout classes, fascial stretch & massage appointments, meditation & breath work sessions, and more.
Our community is the heart and soul of our space. We take pride in the healthy and genuine connections that are being made because of our members’ bonding through the practice of healthy habits in the workday.
One of the coolest things about Squadstyle is the diversity of businesses and brands under one roof. It’s not only powerful for endless collaboration opportunities but also because you could see your chiropractor, bookkeeper, and personal trainer in the same day & place. We make work-life balance for us busy entrepreneurs accessible & convenient.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
My best source of new members is being an active and engaged member of the community. I believe in living the lifestyle that our coworking space and gym promote, and that philosophy is at the core of our client acquisition strategy.
I immerse myself in the community, spending time where our members and potential members are likely to be found. This includes networking and collaborating with local businesses to host events that cater to our shared audience. These collaborations create a win-win situation, allowing us to promote each other and expand our reach.
Additionally, I often work from coffee shops, as they serve as hubs for remote workers and freelancers. This provides an excellent opportunity to connect with individuals who may benefit from our coworking space.
I also attend yoga classes and other fitness-related events to meet active people in town. These activities not only keep me in touch with our target demographic but also allow me to build genuine connections. Living and breathing the lifestyle we promote not only aligns with our values but also serves as fantastic marketing.
By actively participating in the community, I not only find potential clients but also foster a sense of trust and authenticity. It’s not just about selling a service; it’s about genuinely connecting with people who share our vision of a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. This approach has proven highly effective in attracting business owners who become valued members of our community.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Absolutely! My commitment to continuous learning has led me to a treasure trove of resources that have significantly shaped my management and entrepreneurial mindset. Here are a few standout books that have inspired my personal and professional growth:
1) ‘Atomic Habits’ by James Clear: This book has been a game-changer in understanding how small habits can lead to significant improvements in both personal and professional life.
2)’Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life’ by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer: Dr. Dyer’s work has provided profound insights into the power of mindset and its direct impact on success.
3) ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ by Robert T. Kiyosaki: This classic book has reshaped my perspective on financial literacy and wealth-building strategies.
4) ‘Never Split the Difference’ by Chriss Voss: Voss’s negotiation techniques have been invaluable in my business dealings.
5) ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie: Carnegie’s timeless advice on building relationships has greatly influenced my approach to networking and leadership.
In addition to books, I’m an avid consumer of podcasts, and one of my favorites is ‘Impact Theory’ by Tom Bilyeu. Bilyeu’s conversations with thought leaders provide constant inspiration and fresh insights.
Lastly, one resource that I believe is often underutilized is Etsy. It offers a wealth of practical tools, including affordable template downloads that seamlessly integrate with my note-taking app on my iPad. These templates cover a wide range of business needs, from business plan writing and branding to KPI tracking and monthly planning. It’s truly a valuable asset for any business owner seeking to streamline their processes and stay organized.
