We recently connected with Lucius Zunith and have shared our conversation below.
Lucius, appreciate you joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
When it comes down to learning the art of being a director, it honestly takes a lot of time. Months of just watching and studying footage is required, along with having to understand what makes a film look like a film.
Lucius, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a director/screenwriter/cinematographer who’s done everything by myself. Nothing got handed to me, I just took what I could and learned from it. That in itself created a certain “mood” to my work that mixes action with uncertainty, mainly in my best work “Ghetto Fairy Talez”.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
A lot of the time I spend working on these projects is trying to edit more than anything. Trying to get all the footage to look correct and sound correct takes a plethora of time, especially since I do it by myself.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The mission behind everything I create is to spread the Gospel in an uncanny way. There’s a certain view I’m going for with these projects and I’m hoping it goes the way I intend it to.
