Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Victoria Solis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Victoria, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Most of our home decorations have always been inspired by Chip and Joanna’s “The Magnolia”. When searching for unique pieces of clothing, I find myself in boutiques that contain the name Magnolia… or they use Magnolias as their logo.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Victoria Solis and the Founder and Artist behind Peachnolia. What started as a gift between sisters ended up being a family business. We have been open for over a year and it has been the greatest and most terrifying experience. My goal is to provide fashion earrings for anyone at any age. Our earrings are made 100% from polymer clay and they very from sizes and designs. I’m always looking for inspiration from all around me. From walking around stores to flipping through magazines. We offer post earrings, dangle earrings, clip-ons, and micro earrings. I think what sets us apart is the uniqueness behind our pieces. Once a collection is sold out no new pieces are restocked, That gives our customers that one of a kind factor. Our most popular designs we bring them back in different colors. I would say my proudest moment in our journey has been working side by side with my sister (Valentina). She is the our marketing, social media, and shipping director. We know this is just the beginning and we are looking forward to what 2024 has for Peachnolia.
How’d you meet your business partner?
So my cofounder is actually my sister. Every year for Christmas I am always trying to come up with a useful or unique present for her. We are both sorta new moms and I wanted to give her something for her. So as the Holidays were approaching, I saw that polymer clay was the new thing. So I purchased a few beginner tools and made her two pairs or neutral earrings. I remember when I handed her the present I told her ” We are not making a business, this is just a gift”. She looked at me and laughed. As soon as she opened the box and saw them she looked back at me and said “We are starting a business” and from there it was planning and planning…..
Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
Our earrings are 100% made at home from scratch. I shop in different places for my materials. At first it was a ton of research for the best materials and techniques. I watched countless youtube videos and tiktoks. Every collection honestly teaches me a new technique, and not everything comes out perfect the first time. Sometimes even the idea i have in my head doesn’t look perfect once is put on clay. The first thing I think of depending on the season is color palette. Then we move into how many pieces i want for the collection and from there is research and consulting with my business partner.
