We recently connected with Ashley Arrington and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Agape Global is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Empowering Communities One Person at a Time. We’re a growing foundation that’s continuing to provide aid and resources to individuals in need of assistance. The name “Agape Global” was birthed as an extension of a ministry that was created . It is called “I AM AGAPE”. It’s a ministry that allows individuals to grow while seeking God and his presence. Once we seen how fast God was moving through the ministry, we branched out to create Agape Global. The term AGAPE means (/ɑːˈɡɑːpeɪ, ˈɑːˌpeɪ, ˈæɡə-/; from Ancient Greek ἀγάπη (agápē)) is unconditional love, “the highest form of love, charity” and “the love of God for man and of man for God”. Global came along because we are here to impact God’s Kingdom by going globally to be the hands and feet of God. We are Mental Health Advocates!

Ashley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Once birthed, we decided that many of individuals deserved second chances, just as God gives us numerous amounts of chances. Despite our shortcomings, our wrongdoings, mistakes, and even differences, we all deserve another chance. We created a space for individuals to become and be who they are on purpose. A non judgment zone to allow everyone access to all that is needed. We feed the needy, along with provide annual community necessities such as, daily hygiene products, school supplies, men, women, children, and baby clothing with shoes. We are fighting to end world hunger and change the statistics of poverty. We have to tackle the mental health spectrum of all things to help provide aid to those individuals that are homeless or self-destructed. Mental Health plays a vital role in helping end world hunger and poverty.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
As I started to become more involved in the community hands on, I realized that a lot of homeless individuals are homeless to multiple reasoning. A lot of people automatically assume others are homeless because of a drug addiction. Unfortunately, that’s not everyone’s situation. While giving more resources to our communities, we’ve noticed that the resources received sometimes aren’t enough for everyday life sustainability. So, we’re planning and creating safe havens that will allow the individuals to receive more resources.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
We have an affiliated partnering nonprofit organization, “Broken Crayons Still Color”, whose mission and vision is to empower women by helping them shift their mindset from poverty to purpose while creating lasting solutions to alleviate poverty. The founder of this wonderful organization is Laney Lagarde. She’s such a beautiful soul whose heart is just as big as this world! We actually were connected through a mutual business prospect. We met at one of the outreach events and have been glued ever since. Together we are beating the odds for the communities, “One Person at a Time.”
