Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vin Chee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Vin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

In September 2022, I bought my one-way ticket to the U.S. and now resides in Los Angeles, California.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Vin Chee is a professional magician and actor born in Brunei, raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Vin has performed magic internationally and even taken part in the Asia’s Got Talent television show. He has appeared in Crazy Rich Asians and has been featured in local and international press, including TheSun, Free Malaysia Today, Yahoo! Taiwan, Financial Times, just to name a few.

Multi-lingual, Vin is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, Malay and Korean.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

To always show up, even when you don’t feel like showing up. You won’t know unless you try. I did not know I would be able to work with Chris Hemsworth ten years ago and I did not know that I would appear in Crazy Rich Asians. That’s how I built my audience on social media. Small things lead to bigger things.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

There weren’t many Asian movie stars I could look up to in Hollywood. So it’s my goal to change that.
