We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kemisha Levy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kemisha below.
Kemisha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea came about what Kybos Baby Clothing Store three years ago when I got pregnant with my son I was having the hardest time finding unique items for my little boy and that’s when that bright light came to me that I can build a store and let that store grow with him. Having that store would eliminate all the stress for new moms or for moms in general because everything that they need would be at their fingertip

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Kemisha Levy, I was born in Kingston Jamaica , I migrated ten years after my father unexpectedly passed away. My hobbies include: Reading, cooking and writing. Currently, I am Employed in the medical field and I am in the process of pursuing my Masters degree in Health Science management. I’m the Owner and founder of Kybo’s Baby clothing and a subscription box by the name of Little Bee Box. After Giving birth to my son, I began to contemplate on how to create a business that support other mothers like myself, young mother, student etc. I created this company as a mother who can relate to other mothers in the quality and prices they need. Our mission is to Provide quality baby clothes that can be washed repeatedly and still look good. We offer high-quality products for the greatest value and of hassle-free services.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When I decided to start my business I conducted research on multiple items, reached out to vendors and suppliers and calculated the total cost of what it would be to start my business. After I completed my research I then weight the pros and cons and utilized my personal savings to fund my business.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I decided that I was going to start my business I researched to find out how to attract customers. In addition to my personal social media pages, I created business pages on social media such as an Instagram page.
In addition to giving deliberate focus to my business social media pages I joined some Facebook groups for mothers and started sharing with them when I had updates on my business venture. This meant I would share dates and products in these group to garner support .
So my advice to anyone that is planning on starting their business is to start by building a community on social media such as Facebook and Instagram. I also suggest these pages be strictly business pages to allow for a better connection with other business owners in varying groups online.
