We were lucky to catch up with Holly Corbella recently and have shared our conversation below.

Holly, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?

I think about what it would be like to have a 9-5 often. I knew very early on that clocking in for a 9-5 was NOT for me. I graduated with my masters in 2013 and worked a 9-5 for 4 years. I knew Quickly it was not for me and I needed to make a career change. This was the best decision I have made to date. I feel so incredibly happy that I made the life I wanted. I literally created my career. Every time I go on vacation or decide to just take a day for myself and not have to ask for pre approval It feels like I’m dreaming , but I don’t want to pinch myself.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Holly I am the CEO & Founder of Parties By Bellas. We are a pop up adult shop that offers all types of products from things that Vibrate to our Self Enpowering Self Defense line  and everything in between. I’m also a Sex, Business & Life Coach and Event Planner. Most recently I started a Travel Consultant business.  I absolutely love to travel and party so being able to travel and host parties is a dream.

How did this all happen?

Well first I started with a MLM called Passion Parties then shortly after I started my company Parties By Bellas. Everything else kind of just fell into place. At one of my events someone came up to me and asked for me to host a private event for her (Wedding for her Daughter) shortly after this wedding I was asked to do more weddings and Wedding planner was added to my list. This is basically how everything else started as well.

I’ve been hosting events and traveling since I was in high school and now have made it my dream job. The sky is the limit no regrets!

I knew early on I needed the freedom to travel and just have the freedom to make my own schedule. I’m just not someone who can take orders from someone else. I like to do my own thing and be my own boss. PLUS I don’t want to wake up everyday and support someone else’s dream when I can wake up daily and fuel MY dreams!!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Share, Post, go live!! Attending networking events and handing out cards with swag bags. Host virtual and in person events with your business as the sponsor/ host.

Success is NOT going to happen overnight. You can’t just join a company or multiple companies and assume one post will make you rich. I see this all the time someone joins a company and then will join 2-3 more thinking more is better. This is 100% not true! Pick one business and give that 100% of your attention. If you have multiple businesses then you are now splitting up your time and each business will suffer because of this. Reach out I can help you with all of this.

You need to keep going and not give up. It’s going to start off slow and at times seem pointless and you will want to give up but just keep yourself motivated. Just keep your eye on the prize!! If you need a little help reach out i have an online motivational group.

How I keep on track. I like to make annual vision boards. Something I keep in my office so I can see it daily and remember what I want to accomplish. Vision boards help keep me on track and remind myself what I’m doing this for. When the year is over and I’m making the new vision board I like to cross off everything I accomplished. If I didn’t get to someone I’ll add that to the new one.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

So most recently March 2022 I was going to be part of a St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This was going to be the 5th or 6th year we would attend. About a week before the event I got an email that we were no longer allowed to participate in this event because in previous years we did not follow the rules.

I’m not going to lie and say if they were honest and said they felt my business was inappropriate I’d be ok with the decision because I wouldn’t be but they flat out LIED.

They said throwing candy/items while walking in parade is forbidden and will terminate future participation. So I went back and looked and found 10+ other people throwing candy and showed this proof to the committee and they just ignored me. So I decided to make a petition and see if I could get our company back in the parade. It was overwhelming the support we received. The media got ahold of this story and wanted to interview us and help us get the word. Long story short they didn’t let us back in the parade , but it was very moving to see the support we have.

It’s not so much about marching in the parade it’s the team building for the company that matters to us. As a team we loved to do this particular event and would make a whole day out of it
