We were lucky to catch up with Natasha Smith recently and have shared our conversation below.
Natasha , appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Taking the risk to start my own business and open my own Spa to help treat acne and other skin issues I suffered with myself. Having a healing spirit I wanted to use my skills that are unappreciated and taking for granted at 9-5 and utilize them to give my clients relaxing, genuine, and effective treatments utilizing non invasive treatments and more natural products. I taught myself the ins-outs of running a spa and have been successful with over 100 5 star reviews between 3 platforms. I took the risk and even if I failed I would have learned what to or not to do next time. So for me it’s been a win win thus far.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi I’m Natasha! My journey started over 15 years ago with make up. I did freelance make up for about 10 years on/off. My struggle with acne for many years is where my love for skincare started. I suffered from cystic acne and hyperpigmentation for over 19 years. I healed myself starting with diet and then after learning about the layers of skin, I placed myself on a simple yet effective topical treatment plan and I healed myself. I am genuinely passionate about helping others with their skincare journey and or providing quality care to those who struggle with acne and hyperpigmentation like myself. . What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for me has been providing high quality care that I capture. I have taught myself how to utilize social media marketing to grow my clientele to over 150 clients with in the past 18 months. With a consistent return rate. I am extremely passionate about what I am doing and I treat each appointment like it is my first each time. Learning to use video apps and social media platforms has really helped me market myself and my business. It takes a lot of time to film, create, edit, and post amongst multiple platforms. So adjusting to this type of marketing has been the most effective strategy for me gaining clientele.


Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Durning the hardest time in my life where I struggled with a teen who struggled with opiate abuse. I decided keeping myself busy was the best way to cope with dealing with all the stress and anxiety that came with the addiction. I used all the negativity and sadness as motivation for me not to fold under all the pressure. Drowning myself in work and education kept my going. Every time I would finish a treatment the gratitude and smiles and overall way I make people feel, kept me strong and resilient and today my son is healed, alive and doing well. My business is flourishing and I am grateful for ME.
