We recently connected with Briana Ramos and have shared our conversation below.
Briana, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I wanted to work with children since I was a little girl. Being a teacher was how I fulfilled that dream for 10 years. The last 2 years I faced lots of struggle from being hurt on the job to the lack of leadership. Having my daughter showed me that I needed to value myself more. With the support of my family I left to be home with my kids. I knew that taking a risk in life can lead to incredible opportunities and personal growth, but I also knew there was a lot of work ahead of me to replace my income.
Leaving the education industry to be at home with my children as a travel agent was an exciting leap into the unknown. It really required courage and the willingness to embrace the change, but it has opened doors to a world of new experiences and a fulfilling life. While it was daunting to leave a familiar path, taking the risk has lead to a life filled with the freedom of adventure, cultural immersion, and the chance to help others explore the world. Still today it has been the best decision I’ve ever made.

Briana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Mom and Wife that loves to travel. It’s incredible how exploring new places and experiencing different cultures can broaden one’s perspective. As much as I enjoy jetting off to far-flung destinations, my role as a mother always takes precedence. Despite our busy schedules, I make it a point to spend quality time with my children.
One of our weekly traditions is visiting the local library. With my younger kids in tow, we embark on a literary adventure every week. It’s a joy to watch their faces light up as they hear different stories, discover new books, flipping through colorful pages filled with captivating stories. We spend time exploring different genres, from fairy tales to educational books, nurturing their love for reading and fostering their imagination early.
On the weekends, when the whole family is together, we engage in video games that bring us all closer. Through these games, my older kids learn valuable lessons about teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship while forging stronger bonds with their siblings.
As a Mom and Wife, I believe that balance is key. While I cherish the adventures we embark on, it’s the simple moments spent with my children that matter the most.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
My biggest advice is keeping open communication. It is crucial to establish a culture of transparency and honesty within any team or organization. Encouraging open dialogue and actively listening to others’ perspectives fosters trust and collaboration. Effective communication ensures that everyone is on the same page, minimizing misunderstandings and promoting a positive environment.
In addition to open communication, another important leadership principle is to always lead by example. As a leader, your actions speak louder than words. Your team looks up to you and takes cues from your behavior. Demonstrating integrity, accountability, and professionalism sets the tone for how others should conduct themselves. When you hold yourself to high standards, it inspires those around you to do the same.
Moreover, leading by example involves practicing what you preach. If you expect your team to adhere to certain values and principles, you must embody them yourself. Consistency between your words and actions builds credibility and earns the respect of your team members.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source so far has been social media. I also get clients from Google, Yelp, and various travel associations. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube have been instrumental in promoting my business and attracting potential clients. Through engaging posts, eye-catching visuals, and targeted advertisements, I have been able to showcase the unique offerings of my services to a wide audience.
In addition to social media, search engines like Google have played a significant role in driving traffic to my website and my phone. The credibility and trust associated with Google’s search engine have also helped in establishing my business as a reliable choice among customers.
Yelp, a popular online review platform, has been another valuable source of clients. Positive reviews and ratings from satisfied customers have significantly influenced the decision-making process of potential clients, leading them to choose my services over others. The transparency and authenticity of Yelp reviews have served as a testament to the quality of my work, further enhancing my reputation in the industry.
Moreover, being associated with various travel associations has opened doors to a network of potential clients.
