We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ann Belfort a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ann, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client?
Good communication is at the heart of every good business; it is the foundation of great work and lasting relationships. How well you communicate is crucial to creating a productive, efficient and collaborative workflow with excellent results, especially in Real Estate.
I advise my clients quite often on the importance of “over-communicating”. Over-communication helps prevent misunderstandings, keeps crucial information top of mind, and ensures everyone is on the same page. My goal is to deliver excellent service that can only be accomplished when we are on the same page. Over-communication only works as a two-way street; no amount of over-communication is too much when investments and contract deals are at stake.

Ann, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Ann Belfort; a Miami native, I understand the numerous intangible benefits of living in sunny South Florida. Our city is well known for being a tropical playground for people from all walks of life. The warm, sunny weather, soft sandy beaches, shopping, dining, nightlife, and art deco architecture with its unmatched weather, are the abundance of exciting activities one will find nowhere else.
I attended Johnson & Wales University and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandise Retail Marketing. After my experience in the industry, I fell in love with Marketing and decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in International Marketing at Hult International Business School.
My interest in Real Estate began when I truly understood the importance of homeownership. I realized it is much more than simply putting a roof over your head. Purchasing a home is a foundational step for building generational wealth and one of the most consistent ways to build and grow a financial bedrock for future generations.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you make them feel by famous poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou.
Her timeless statement, proves to be true; I can attest to it in my personal and professional life. As people, we naturally value authentic relationships and genuine interactions. I believe cultivating that approach has been my most effective strategy for growing my clientele.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Character is the fundamental key to success. The job of a realtor can be lucrative career but can only be achieved if you are able to gain the confidence and trust of your clients. Being authentic, transparent and honest have helped me build my reputation in this business.
I always keep in mind that my character and upright ways of doing business can quickly spread around where potential buyers and sellers will not have a problem tracking me down for their Real Estate needs.
