We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Demetrius Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Demetrius thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
By creating content and actively participating in creating and planting over 100,000 Spirit Bombs (milkweed wildflowers in seed bombs) in North America, I’m striving to build a legacy deeply rooted in environmental stewardship and positive impact on the world. Here’s a few things I believe represent my legacy:
1. Environmental Advocacy: Our dedication to planting Spirit Bombs showcases my commitment to environmental advocacy. I’m not just talking about saving the world; I’m actively contributing to it. This reflects a profound concern for our planet’s health and a desire to make it better for future generations.
2. Biodiversity Conservation: The focus on supporting endangered pollinators like butterflies through milkweed planting highlights my legacy of preserving biodiversity. My actions demonstrate a tangible commitment to safeguarding the natural world and all its inhabitants.
3. Community Engagement: Planting 104,000 Spirit Bombs is a remarkable feat that involves engaging communities and rallying people behind a shared cause. My legacy extends to building a network of like-minded individuals who care about the environment and want to make a difference.
4. Educational Impact: As I create content around my environmental efforts, I’m also leaving a legacy of education. Informing and inspiring others to take action and be more environmentally conscious. This ripple effect can lead to a broader cultural shift toward sustainability.
5. Sustainability Practices: My actions promote sustainable practices and showcase a legacy of responsible living. By promoting eco-friendly products and conservation efforts, you’re setting an example for sustainable living that can be emulated by others.
6. Long-Term Impact: The legacy I’m building isn’t just for the present; it’s for the long term. The milkweed we’re planting will continue to support pollinators and ecosystems for years to come, leaving a lasting impact on the environment.
In essence, my legacy is one of stewardship, conservation, and education, with a profound commitment to making the world a better place for nature and people alike. It’s a legacy that emphasizes the importance of taking action, not just for the sake of our generation but for the well-being of the planet and its inhabitants in the years and decades to come.

Demetrius, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Most people know me from TikTok @kingmetrius_ since I founded the Global Warrior Project. We make and sell Spirit Bombs, milkweed wildflowers in seed bombs to support endangered pollinators like Monarch butterflies & more.
The journey of creating Spirit Bombs began with a combination of personal motivation, public demand, and a deep concern for the environment.
My genuine passion for nature and the outdoors led me to creating content about the planet. Which led to my content resonating with others who share the same passion and desire to make a positive impact and contribute to the well-being of the planet.
Concerns about environmental issues, such as declining pollinator populations and habitat loss, were other driving forces. Many people are deeply troubled by these challenges and were seeking ways to address them.
I felt a deep desire to be part of the solution, rather than just acknowledging the problems. The world needs more individuals willing to take action to make it a better place.
How:
I started by educating myself about the issues I felt the everyday person could address. This included learning about endangered pollinators, the importance of milkweed, and the concept of seed bombs.
I embarked on creating Spirit Bombs by developing the product itself. This involved selecting native, non-aggressive species of milkweed, crafting the seed bombs, and ensuring they’re easy to use and effective for their intended purpose.
Followed by multiple iterations of the product, testing its efficacy, and refining the formula to achieve the best results in terms of supporting pollinators and enhancing biodiversity.
To spread the message and make a larger impact, we engaged with local communities, environmental organizations, and gardening enthusiasts who share my passion.
Creating content, such as articles, videos, and social media posts (@globalwarriorproject), played a crucial role in raising awareness about Spirit Bombs and their benefits.
To make a tangible impact, we explored ways to distribute or sell Spirit Bombs, making them accessible to a wider audience through globalwarriorproject.com
Starting the journey of making Spirit Bombs was a semi-complicated endeavor, driven by a combination of personal values, a desire for positive change, and a deep concern for the environment. It represents a proactive approach to addressing critical ecological challenges and leaving a lasting, positive impact on the world.
How did you build your audience on social media?
One key aspect of building an audience on social media is to consistently provide value to your followers. This means creating and sharing content that resonates with your target audience. My strategy typically begins with thorough research to understand the target demographic and what content they are most interested in. Then, I create a content calendar or schedule to ensure a regular posting. Engagement is crucial, so I always make an effort to respond to comments, questions, and messages promptly. Interacting with the audience fosters a sense of community and builds trust.
Additionally, I keep a close eye on social media analytics to understand what’s working and what’s not. This data-driven approach helps me refine the content strategy over time.
For those just starting to build their social media presence, I would advise the following:
– Define Your Goals: Understand what you want to achieve through your social media presence. Whether it’s brand awareness, lead generation, or community building, your goals will shape your strategy.
– Know Your Audience: Research your target audience thoroughly. What are their interests, pain points, and online behavior? Tailor your content to match their preferences.
– Consistency is Key: Maintain a consistent posting schedule to keep your audience engaged. Regular updates keep your brand top of mind.
– Quality Over Quantity: It’s better to have high-quality content posted less frequently than to flood your feed with subpar content. Quality content will generate more engagement and shares.
– Engage and Build Relationships: Interact with your audience, respond to comments, and foster a sense of community. Building genuine relationships with your followers can turn them into brand advocates.
– Use Analytics: Pay attention to your social media analytics. They provide valuable insights into what’s working and what needs improvement. Adjust your strategy accordingly.
– Stay Updated: Social media is constantly evolving. Stay up to date with the latest trends, algorithms, and features on the platforms you use.
Building a social media presence takes time and effort, but with the right strategy and consistent execution, it can yield significant benefits for both personal branding and business growth.
Have you ever had to pivot?
There was a pivotal moment in my life when I made the decision to leave the US Air Force and transition into entrepreneurship. While I had always been deeply committed to serving the armed forces, I felt a strong desire to have a broader and more direct impact on the world.
I spent 6 years in the military, and during that time, I gained invaluable skills and experiences, but I began to question if my true calling lay in making a difference in a different way. It wasn’t an easy decision by any means, as leaving the military meant departing from a secure and well-respected career.
What drove this pivot was the realization that I had a passion for working on issues related to humanitarian aid and global development. I wanted to be on the front lines of creating positive change in the lives of people around the world, particularly in regions affected by conflict and poverty.
The transition wasn’t straightforward. I had to carefully plan my exit strategy, considering the skills and experiences I had gained during my military service and how they could be applied to my new career. I also pursued relevant educational opportunities to better equip myself for this new path.
Leaving the military and venturing into a career focused on humanitarian work was a significant shift. It required adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to embrace change. It wasn’t without its challenges, but it was a choice that I made with a deep sense of purpose and determination.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with organizations dedicated to making a positive impact on the world. I’ve been involved in projects that have touched the lives of individuals and communities in meaningful ways. This experience has reinforced my belief that sometimes, making a pivot in your career can lead to greater fulfillment and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the world.
This journey has taught me that, no matter where you start, it’s possible to change course and pursue a path that aligns with your true passions and values. It’s about having the courage to pivot when you believe it’s the right thing to do and being open to the opportunities that arise as a result.
