We recently connected with Armanda Diaz and have shared our conversation below.
Armanda, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
I always go above and beyond for all my clients. I put so much heart and passion into my work because I truly love what I do. I believe when things are made with love they are received with love too. In doing this with pure intentions many of my customers have become great friends.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Armanda Diaz owner of Forever True, from San Antonio Texas. I offer custom handmade to engraved items, custom shirts to personalized gifts and etc. When I began my journey with my crafts, a single mother just trying to make extra income for my children and I but also finding that in doing this was also therapeutic for me. I started my business off of a craigslist post and here I am years later with more than what I started with. It began with a cricut machine, you know the one that you needed cartridges to use…. yes that one… so I bought it second hand online with all my savings. I became very much more confident in crafting with my cardstock and ribbon crafts that I ventured off into custom apparel. Becoming very good at what I did I wanted to offer my clients more.I vividly remember maxing out a credit card in just to get my first laser machine and at that time we were landed in the middle of a pandemic and I was sitting on thousands of dollars and I didn’t know where to start. I had no choice but to just do it. So I started I did some research, it was alot of trial and error but I never gave up. During my journey with laser work, Let me give a big thanks to my aunt, Katherine Garcia from ‘ The Kat Garcia Group’ a realtor here in San Antonio, Texas who brainstormed with me as I made her first closing gift for her clients first time home purchase. Now I work with the best realtors in San Antonio Texas and surrounding areas. I even have shipped to clients out of state who have found me online or via my Etsy shop. Im so proud of how far I have come because I wanted to quit at times. But by faith and prayer I am still holding on to my small home business which one day will be a bigger than I ever dreamed of.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Where to begin… tragically Loosing my 17 year old son tragically December 16th 2022. At that point I didn’t care to do anything But somehow I gathered strength to keep going. My business name used to be Heart of Handmade but after his passing I decided to change my business name in honor of him. Now it’s ” Forever True ” Which represents him and something I told him as he was growing up. I would always tell my son Stay TRUE to you, and that he did.
I have found that my crafting has become therapeutic in my grief.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Honestly word of mouth which I’m truly thankful for, Im currently working on a website.
