We recently connected with XZERÈ NOIRE and have shared our conversation below.
XZERÈ , appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
In the process of failing and failing and failing then failing again. You eventually get so good at failure that something has to give. The vision of XZERÈ NOIRE has always been clear. Looking from the outside in the foundation has been set. Execution remains solely on what the company is set to do: which is to embody a culture to recreate industry standards. As the CEO, the idea was simply to put on clothes that were modest, but not boring: To make it popular to be sexy, but not trashy.: To be cool, but not trendy.
The vision about 2 years ago seemed like it wouldn’t work because of the trends. Yet if I focused on that I would’ve quit due to no real plan. There’s no direct roadmap for success. As I grow as a person being close to the industry but far enough to still be my own person I marvel at the growth of where I started from where I began.
Not listening to anyone else that had no idea of the vision put me in the best position to win.

XZERÈ , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
XZERÈ NOIRE is a revolutionary brand with a concept of bringing clothing to life in music, film, and entertainment industries.
In doing so the aim is to highlight the importance of beauty of all sizes and ages. Though the clothing in this current moment is focused on women, the expansion to men is not far out of sight.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
At the time of opening the company I was working full time in a major fashion field. Humbly speaking I was doing great- I just knew what I truly wanted to do.
So I quit.
Yet, I was betting fully on myself even when people around me could see it . At times neither could I but I stuck with it and kept working to see the bigger picture. Even though it wasn’t easy I’ve become extremely appreciative of the process and embracing it. My favorite song during that time became “Smile” by Scarface, 2Pac, and Johnny P.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that everything had to be limited to a one way direction. Everyone says to focus on one thing and stick with it. Or that a jack of all trades is a master of none. I just couldn’t think that way. I think conceptually, in the sense that I can focus on what I need to do right now- but not lose sight of the end goal. Remembering the why has kept me from ending this journey numerous times.
The people who have supported this journey believe whole heartedly in it. Their level of expectation gives me hope to continue and see brighter days even when it’s dark at the moment.
