Emilee, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s imagine that you were advising someone who wanted to start something similar to you and they asked you what you would do differently in the startup-process knowing what you know now. How would you respond?

If I was able to start over, I would appreciate the steps it took to get here more. I was eager to get through school, and be licensed, while I wish I would’ve taken it in every moment. I would’ve taken every mentor, every lesson, every peer, in with a little more appreciation!

Emilee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

All growing up, I really loved art, makeup, and expressing myself. Luckily the three go hand in hand. I started the cosmetology program at Tooele High School, and immediately fell in love. I love that I get to make people feel beautiful while doing something I love. For hair, I offer; coloring, lightening, cuts, styles, blow outs, deep conditionings, scalp treatments. For nails, I offer; structured gel manicures, hard gel manicures, and Gel X sets. I love doing nail art, and will never deny any kind of nail art designs. I love to make my clients feel beautiful, while achieving healthy hair and nails. I want my clients to feel comfortable and safe with me, while trusting me to make them feel confident in themselves.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

My most effective strategy for growing my clientele is posting on social media! Social media has become such a useful tool for any business wanting to gain clientele.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I started my social media pages back through beauty school. I stayed consistent posting, and made content more like clients would want to see! My advice for new business owners, post more! There is never too much to post about. The more you post, the more activity finds your page. Stay consistent!
