We recently connected with Judaea Wilbon and have shared our conversation below.
Judaea, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you manage your own social media?
I currently manage my own social media platforms, I made this choice because I know exactly what it is that I want and that I’m looking for. Also with me managing my own social media platforms I’m able grow in my content creation skills. It’s almost as if we’re growing together and I’m learning from myself while doing so. I would tell others to do what’s best for them and weigh out the options of what’s most important. If your interested in the DIY of things then train yourself and learn along the way, if not I would say hire a team, but also don’t think you need a team right out the gate.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those who may or may not know me I am Judaea Raquel and I wear many hats. I am a business owner/entrepreneur and my businesses consist of “JRTHESTYLIST” where I help style others creatively in fashion and meet the needs of fashion to others capacity. My following business who is actually my “baby” as I would call it is “ICYALLURE”, where I sell high quality jewelry to a wide ranged audience. While my thur business is currently in a rebrand it’s named “ICEDGFXBYJR” where I service graphic designs for businesses and even ordinary people who may just need a flyer for an event. While I hold the title of being a multi-business owner I also have myself a YouTube channel under the name of “Judaea Raquel” where I show the daily life of myself while also being a double fashion major in college, on my channel you’ll get vlogs related to college life, being a business owner, and even routines that I may hold. Something that I think sets me apart from others is I show the real, raw, and uncut of my life, though I love to show the aesthetic side of things I also keep it a buck with my supporters and show that life isn’t easy but I continue to keep going because I know where I want to be before it’s my time to go on this earth. I am proud of everything I have accomplished thus far, from me gaining a real support system on my YouTube channel in less then a year to this being my second magazine cover at the age of 19.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I am one of the people I would say started my business and social media platforms from the ground up. Though they still aren’t exactly where I want them to be but their continuously growing. I started with 0 followers on all of my pages, from Instagram to TikTok to YouTube. Though promoting daily can really get you somewhere, I use TikTok as a main promoting source, people love TikTok and they like finding new people to scroll through on there feed. If you show yourself on TikTok that gains an audience, then with that audience you then have to promote your other platforms to them so they can then stay connected to you throughout. Being consistent is also a main factor, yes you can promote but you can’t promote once a week and expect to have 100 new supporters gained with your one promotion. You have to stay consistent, consistency leads to patterns which leads to schedules which leads to success. You have to have a plan and you have to stick through that plan on the journey to success.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I’ve had many stories where I’ve had to turn my life around which pivots every aspect of my life. One I can say is me attending college was a whole new ball game, though I already had my jewelry business in high school, my graphic business came up off of my jewelry business with me doing everything on my own and people enjoying it curated another business. My styling business came from me attending fashion school and my YouTube channel came from me wanting to get more personal with my supporters while in college. College began to take up a lot of my time and even though it pushed me to start new ideas for myself it also stole a lot of my attention from where most of my attention was. What helped me was planning out my days and breaking everything down which I still do to this day, some days I do school work, some days I do content, some days I do content of my school work. I had to work what I do in my everyday life into my passions, which makes it more fun but also more easily accomplished and enjoyable.
