We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Max Wasa a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Max, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
I started working in the arts at a very early age. I was 5 or 6 when I did my first voice over gig and by seven my first film. Years passed between jobs and you naturally question if you will ever work again. But work I did. Night and day studying to become the best version of myself at each point in my career. Investing in myself so that at some point I could invest in others.
Voiceover, film, television, music, dance and art consumed my time and attention.
But as artist you never make what you think a solid living would be. That is one of the main reasons as a union actor and writer we must fight for rights to our living.

Max, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Growing up in a family filled with brilliant artist I had little choice than to become a n artist myself. I have been extremely blessed in my career.
When writing I look for projects that will not only entertain but also educate the viewer.
I’ve currently been writing and producing some really exciting projects that will meet that need.
Every week you can find me on my radio/podcast The Tortious and the Hare Experience on the Enter the shell. Which can be found on all your streaming services.
And my website www.maxwasaofficial.com has updates as well.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Many non creatives might find it difficult to understand that I don’t do just one thing. People often say I am all over the creative map. In order to do anything in the arts you must be well versed at many things. I’ve won a lifetime achievement award for producing music as well as been in some of your favorite tv shows and movies over the years. My company Liquid music group, has worked with some of the best musicians in the world and I am as proud of them as Would be of my own accomplishments as an artist. If you have knowledge then it is your obligation to share it.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of my career is helping others not give up and float free together in an ocean of creatives.lifting others up and teaching others how to create art that inspires and uplifts the human experience.
