We recently connected with Pierre “CiinderFella” Davison and have shared our conversation below.
Pierre “CiinderFella”, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I always wanted to see myself as a “Child Star” it looked very fulfilling then what my life was at that time during my childhood, not to say it was bad or anything but just saw myself in a different light.
Pierre “CiinderFella”, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well for the ones that don’t know me let me reintroduce myself I am Pierre “CiinderFella” Davison. I was born 26 years ago in Houston, Texas and raised in the church under the leadership of my great-grandmother Overseer B.M. Nelson and later at Corinth Church of Houston under A. Louis Patterson and Alan Lamar Patterson, respectively. I began finding out I was really passionate about performing whether it was singing, dancing, or acting I loved being on stage no matter the size. Although I never paid for professional classes I taught myself how to find my authentic voice and style. Earlier this year I finally released my first single “Home” a song that I felt shows where I am now and where I’m trying to go in the near future but always remaining grounded. I set myself apart by bringing back actual music and actual singers and not have to adjust to modern styles to be relevant. I feel my fan base knows I’m very old school before streaming was a thing and singers were famous for their voice and music and not who they are dating this week. That’s also what I feel a true star is someone who’s talent outshines any and everything negative.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I don’t have just a straight reference to any documents or videos but certain people who I watch and study from. Since I’m a singer first I only listen to singers, I rarely listen to anyone who cannot sing. Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Aaliyah are just some examples of artist who I not only study music from but also their unique interview style, the way how they market their careers, the certain groups you saw them in, that’s what I let impact my business sense. Learning from the greats.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding thing is being acknowledged whether it’s a good or bad review you did something that not only made you get noticed but it was so good or bad that somebody took their time out to tell you what they feel about your work. It’s up to the eyes of the beholder to decipher if that’s going to help make them or break them, and I always choose to let it make and mold me.
