We recently connected with Laura Lanci and have shared our conversation below.
Laura, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Being a Performing Artist for almost twenty years, and a Singing and Dance Teacher for over fifteen years, I was thrilled to unveil a creative haven that combined artistic expression with the power of inner peace that’s all about discovering and nurturing the artist within you. I wanted to unite Singing, Acting and Dancing with Yoga and Meditation practices to free, train, and heal the artist within.
That is why I designed ‘Your Whole Voice’, to give participants of all ages, levels, and backgrounds a place for true enjoyment and well-being. Within each of us lies a unique artistic voice, waiting to be expressed and celebrated. My mission is to empower individuals to tap into their creative potential, whether their goal is to develop the craft of Performing Arts, healing through movement and song, building confidence for public speaking, or finding a supportive community where to develop their artistry, Your Whole Voice opens a world filled with creativity and infinite possibilities for personal, and professional development, it’s a way to give ‘Voice’ to the music inside you, in a relaxed setting. We work on developing range and tone. We learn to improvise and harmonize, playing with and learning how to care for our voices.
There are countless physical benefits in singing, movement and Yoga, which include aiding circulation and helping the lymphatic and immune systems. Your posture improves as singing uses your back and abdominal muscles. You also increase muscle tone in your face, neck and jaw giving you a natural face-lift! Endorphins are released so mood improves greatly (just like chocolate!)
Songs and chants have been used across cultures and ages for worship, motivation, to give courage and pleasure, celebration, and to help us get to sleep. Singing inspires our soul, creativity, confidence and well-being. There are great emotional and social benefits in joining.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Bilingual (Spanish-English) Singer, Voice Actress and Dancer-Choreographer. As an Artist I have performed in Grammys Commercials, TV shows such as the Latin sensation Teen Angels, and acclaimed L.A Theater productions.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The struggles were plenty, for instance learning the language to be able to communicate better took a lot of hard work (I became a Certified Medical Interpreter on that journey). And I continue to learn more every day.
Not being able to work for a couple of years waiting on working papers to clear, was also a very challenging experience. Having faith, and being optimistic towards the future, focusing on training, and patience, made a positive difference throughout that very difficult time.
The struggles taught me to find faith and courage within myself to continue the pursue, understanding that it is a journey and a process and there is no real attainable end but only a present moment by moment, that can be enjoyed and appreciated. To follow my joy.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I took a big risk when I decided to stay in the United States. I had a life set up for me in Argentina, but I fell in love with whom today is my husband, and I had to make that decision, being far away from everyone and everything I knew at the time was very difficult. I know that my decision was the best one for me at the time because I evolved in many ways, I am better than I was before, I grew and because of that, I can now help others through that growing process as well.
I believe that every day is a gift and so I intend to live life to the fullest. I believe that risk taking is about not being afraid of what we call ‘failure’ or ‘success’. I take risks because for me the only failure is to not try again. And the greatest success is to be kind to myself regardless of the outcome.
I believe that if you have a dream you will find the way to pursue it, and it will be completely unique to you. When you focus your mind, work hard, keep going and not give up, when you do not listen to the rejection, you can overcome and achieve anything life throws your way.
I think it is important to meditate on looking at life from how do you want to feel when you last close your eyes? What is truly important to you? How do you want to serve the world? What places do you want to see? Who do you want to talk to? What do you want to say to them? Will this matter that much in the next five years?
These questions guide me to make decisions. Most importantly, I think we all want to feel peace. So the decisions we make need to be followed by a feeling of peace, I think the best answer lies there.
